U.S. mortgage rates drop

A previous version of this story gave the incorrect year when single-family home sales last matched September’s pace. The story has been corrected. CHICAGO (MarketWatch) — Mortgage rates fell this week, due to worries about slower economic growth, Freddie Mac’s chief economist said on Thursday.
