The Cumberland’s standard variable mortgage rate now stands at 6.74 per cent.
The decision is in line with a Bank of England base rate cut of 0.25 per cent announced on February 7. The move will save a customer with an ВЈ80,000 repayment mortgage approximately ВЈ12 a month.
